Story of Mark, the founder of Blacksheep Power
Mark Gilligan founded Blacksheep in 2018. With Blacksheep, Mark is passionate to develop and manufacture world leading products in Vietnam, and show young Vietnamese people how to aim high.
Mark studied Engineering at Cranfield in the UK and worked in the Aerospace and F1 industries at the start of his career. After many years, he ended up in Technology consulting in the Cambridge area in the UK. Here Mark stumbled into scientific and medical device development. In 2001 he started what has become a group of companies called Blacktrace Holdings Ltd with HQ in the UK near to Cambridge.
In 2023, Blacktrace was acquired by another company. Mark remains dedicated to fostering commercially successful innovation ventures. His overarching goal is to ‘Productize Science,’ transforming groundbreaking scientific discoveries into globally marketable products. Mark have also incorporated a new company in the UK, which is now the group company of Blacksheep.

Black sheep are rare and walk their own path
The expression “black sheep of the family” means a person does not follow convention or challenges the status quo, hence a black sheep is often initially rejected as bad or different. However, the power of the black sheep is the power to change for the better since most changes in human history have originally been catalysed by a black sheep, who has turned out to be correct.
